CONVENT, La. (AP) - A St. James Parish grand jury has indicted a 46-year-old man on an attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting at two uniformed deputies in Convent in late May.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1JjHzzE ) that St. James Parish deputies had responded to a call about a man walking in the road brandishing a firearm when the gunfire occurred.

The District Attorney’s Office said in a news release that the grand jury on Tuesday indicted Ron C. Youngblood, whose home town was unavailable, on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
