SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Two men are held in Enfield, Connecticut, after police say they led officers on a high speed chase that began in nearby West Springfield, Massachusetts.

Springfield Police Lt. Philip Tarpey tells the Republican (https://bit.ly/1KnzC78) the pursuit began just before 3 a.m. Saturday after a man reported that two men robbed him at gunpoint and drove away.

West Springfield officers tried to stop a car matching the description, but the driver sped off. The chase continued on Interstate 91 at speeds over 100 mph until the men were stopped in Enfield, Connecticut.

Enfield Police Lt. Steven Kaselous said the driver faces Connecticut motor vehicle charges, and both are held as fugitives. They appear in court Monday in Connecticut, and will face armed robbery and motor vehicle charges later in Massachusetts.
