SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a man has died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Schenectady.

The Times Union of Albany reports (https://bit.ly/1JZ3cEj ) the Friday night crash also left another man injured.

Police say 29-year-old Jerry Fraine was killed after he was hit by the fleeing driver while trying to cross State Street.

Another man, 61-year-old Donald Shahaffer, was also struck. He is expected to recover.

Police say the fleeing van that hit the men was found abandoned a few blocks away.

Witnesses told officers they saw the driver run into a nearby cemetery.

Authorities say the owner of the van is cooperating with the investigation and is not considered a suspect.

No arrests had been made by Saturday afternoon.
