NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - Officials at the Four Bears Casino and Lodge near New Town say a $47 million event center addition is on schedule and under budget.

General Manager Patrick Packineau unveiled phase one of the addition to the casino recently.

Phase one involves the renovation of the old event center into a grand ballroom, three meeting rooms and a slot machine room that will allow smoking.

KXMC-TV reports the grand ballroom was designed to be converted into a wedding setting, a night club or sports bar, depending on the needs of the clients.

Packineau says when the new event center is complete next July, there are plans to host more concerts, powwows, sporting events and rodeos.
