ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an Albuquerque man has been arrested on allegations that he threatened to kill a woman and attempted to rape her while he held against her will in her apartment for six days.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1DVvChy) that 54-year-old Richard Michael Beltran was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, aggravated battery against a household member and attempted sexual penetration charges.

A criminal complaint say the woman and Beltran had an ongoing relationship but that he beat and choked her until she lost consciousness several times, attempted to rape her and threatened to kill her.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said the woman managed to slip away and call 911 after Beltran became intoxicated and fell asleep.
