EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Kia Nurse scored 20 points and Canada beat Cuba 82-66 on Sunday night in the gold-medal game of the FIBA Americas women’s basketball championship to clinch a berth in the 2016 Olympics.

Natalie Achonwa had 12 points for the Canadians, who went undefeated in the tournament to extend their winning streak to 14 games on home soil. They had recently defeated the U.S. for gold at the Pan American Games in Toronto.

Leidys Oquendo scored 25 points for Cuba, which was ranked fourth in the Americas and 13th in the world. Canada was third in the Americas and No. 10 in the world.

Cuba will have a second chance at advancing through to the Olympics, having secured a berth in next year’s FIBA women’s Olympic qualifying tournament.

Argentina beat Brazil 66-59 earlier Sunday to win the bronze. Brazil is already through to the Olympics as the host nation.
