EASLEY, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died after a trailer became unhitched from a truck and crashed through a building in Pickens County.

Local media outlets report that the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck was driving just after noon on Saturday when a trailer became unhitched from his truck.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Gary Miller says the trailer ran off the left side of the road. It struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on private property and crashed into a metal building that is part of Home With a Heart Resale Store.

Miller says 48-year-old Brian Keith of Easley was helping a customer inside the building when he was struck by the trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating.
