SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) - Glance at the fourth round of the PGA Championship at 7,501-yard, par-72 Whistling Straits:

Champion: Jason Day, who shot 5-under 67 to finish at a major-record 20-under par.

Runner-Up: Jordan Spieth, who finished at 17 under and never got closer to Day than two shots.

Others: Branden Grace was third, followed by Justin Rose.

Rory Watch: Rory McIlroy finished 17th at 9 under. He reported no problems with the ankle he hurt playing soccer earlier this summer.



New No. 1: Spieth, the Masters and U.S. Open champion, took the top spot in the world ranking from McIlroy.

Key stat: Day was 14 under on the par 5s this week, eight shots better than Spieth.

Noteworthy: Dustin Johnson opened the day with a quadruple-bogey 8, then went 7 under the rest of the round en route to a tie for seventh.

Quoteworthy: “He played like he had won seven or eight majors before.” -Spieth on Day, who won his first major.
