SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say a Tooele man died after falling while hiking Mount Nebo in Utah’s Juab County.

KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1JZX9iW ) that 40-year-old Gregory Bronder died Saturday.

Utah County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Erik Knutzen says Bronder was in a group of three climbers training for a climb on Mount Rainier. He fell while crossing a saddle between two of the peaks.

Authorities estimate that Bronder fell about 1,500 feet.

Emergency personnel responded to a call about the fall around 11:30 a.m. The other two climbers tried to help Bronder but his injuries were too severe.
