LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Authorities say a 9-year-old boy in Maine was critically injured after he was struck by an SUV while riding his bike.

It happened just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Lewiston.

Police say the boy was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries considered life-threatening.

Authorities said Saturday night that the boy was in stable condition.

The identity of the boy or the driver of the SUV has not been released.

Police say the incident is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
