ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say they’ve made an arrest in the killing of man found dead in an apartment on the city’s southeast side over the weekend.

Police spokesman officer Fred Duran says detectives identified 19-year-old Jessie Fierro as a suspect and he confessed to the killing of 54-year-old Anthony Marquez.

A criminal complaint says Marquez offered to allow Fierro, his girlfriend and her 2-year-old daughter stay with him Friday. The girlfriend told police that after the couple took showers she thought Marquez was “coming onto her” so she told Fierro. He then stabbed the man and took his bank cards.

The body was discovered early Saturday after water dripping from an overflowing bathtub leaked into a downstairs apartment and a maintenance man was called.
