MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services is inviting people to apply to attend a program of eight days of training over the course of an academic year for people who deal with victims and survivors of crime.

Applications are due by Sept. 25 for the Vermont Victim Assistance Academy, a series of courses offered in four two-day meetings in October, January, March and May.

People who have attended past courses have come from a variety of fields, including state’s attorneys’ offices, domestic and sexual violence programs, child abuse prevention and youth services programs.
