MANSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in southeastern Massachusetts.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office says 36-year-old Matthew Cochran, of East Providence, died Thursday while on the railroad tracks in Mansfield.

Authorities said he was killed by an Amtrak train that was headed to Boston around 10:50 a.m.

The incident delayed some MBTA commuter trains for up to two hours while police investigated. Other Amtrak trains were delayed for much longer.

Fire officials say six people on the train were evaluated for injuries but no one was hospitalized.

Transit police say no foul play was involved but the incident remains under investigation.
