FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - A driver was airlifted to a hospital after colliding with a train in Fond du Lac.

Authorities say the crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. Monday. First responders extricated the victim from his vehicle, which was heavily damaged. A medical helicopter landed on Highway 45 just north of the accident and transported the man. There’s no immediate word on his condition.

Officials say no one of the Canadian National Railway train was hurt.
