MACON, Ga. (AP) - A Macon attorney has been arrested on federal drug charges.

U.S. District Court records show 35-year-old Holly Hogue Edwards was arrested by authorities Monday. Documents unsealed following her arrest show Edwards was indicted last week on three counts of illegal distribution of oxycodone and one count on distributing oxycodone and methamphetamine.

Allison Willis, a spokeswoman for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, said in a statement that Edwards was indicted after she sold drugs to undercover agents.

Court records say a judge appointed attorney Christina L. Hunt to defend Edwards. Hunt did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
