DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Police in Durham have charged a man with murder following a stabbing death.

Officers were called to an intersection early Monday morning. They found 37-year-old Austin Barnes of Graham dead at the scene.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said in a statement that the victim’s brother, 39-year-old David Barnes of Durham, had also been stabbed. He was being treated at a hospital for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Investigators have arrested 43-year-old Jeffrey Morton of Durham and charged him with murder and aggravated assault. He was being held without bond in the Durham County Jail. It was not clear if he has an attorney.

Michael says it appears the stabbing followed an argument.
