PHOENIX (AP) - Bond has been set at $750,000 for a Phoenix man accused of killing his wife at an Avondale lake.

Authorities say 27-year-old Kyit Oo was booked into jail Saturday night on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Oo didn’t have a lawyer at his initial court appearance Monday.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials say Za Bay Da was found fatally beaten.

Oo told authorities his wife had asked to go to the lake they had frequented in the past.

While en route to the lake, Oo says he and his wife began arguing and the confrontation turned physical.

After they got to the lake, they stepped outside and Oo says he struck his wife in the head and face, causing her to fall into the water.

The couple had been married since 2009.
