CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A Lake Elsinore couple has died, but their toddler who was ejected from the vehicle during a rollover crash on Interstate 15 in Corona has survived.

The Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1IWqo3S ) the crash happened Saturday around 8 p.m. when a Chevy Tahoe heading north rolled several times before resting upright.

The couple, 32-year-old Jose De Jesus Ibarra-Espinoza and 26-year-old Rosio Ibarra, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Corona Fire Battalion Chief Jeremy Verderber says the child, believed to be about 18 months old, was still in its car seat when discovered by medical crews on the shoulder of the road. The child is reported to have nonlife-threatening injuries.

A California Highway Patrol dispatcher says the incident was initially reported as a hit-and-run collision.



The crash remains under investigation.
