COLLINS, Miss. (AP) - Emergency officials say a tornado has touched down near Collins, Mississippi, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to buildings.

Greg Flynn with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says sheriff’s deputies in Covington County reported the tornado damaged some trees. It hit the ground about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Covington County is just north of Hattiesburg.
