TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Department of Correction says a work-release inmate walked off his job site in Texarkana during his lunch break Tuesday.

Authorities are searching for 31-year-old Torey Phillips, who clocked out from his job at Mr. Speedy Car Care in Texarkana, Texas at 12:22 p.m. A corrections officer noticed he wasn’t in the breakroom three minutes later and began searching for him.

Correction officials say witnesses think Phillips got into a gold car driven by someone else. Another employee of the business reported a cellphone was missing, and authorities believe Phillips may have used it to get a ride.

Phillips was serving a 15-year sentence for manufacturing, delivery or possession of a controlled substance. He was being housed at the Texarkana Regional Correction Center.
