DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say a woman found fatally stabbed on Detroit’s west side has been identified as a young woman missing since arranging a meeting with a man online.

The Detroit News reports the Wayne County medical examiner’s office has identified the body found Monday as that of Cynthia Worthy.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassandra Lewis says officers responded Monday night after a body was discovered. Investigators on Monday had sought help finding Worthy.

Police earlier said Worthy was last seen at her home on Friday afternoon. TV stations WXYZ and WJBK reported that Worthy’s family said she was supposed to meet with a man that she had met through Backpage.com, which carries personal ads for people looking for sex.
