SALEM, Mass. (AP) - A Boxford man who went on a “drunk and obnoxious” rampage at a North Shore gardening center has avoided prison time but must pay almost $22,000 in restitution.

Michael Kehoe was charged last year in Salem District Court with smashing flowerpots, knocking over plants, cutting several water hoses, and knocking over equipment at Kane’s Flower World in Danvers.

The Salem News (https://bit.ly/1KtzZNH ) reports that the 20-year-old Kehoe reached a deal with prosecutors Monday under which charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor and wanton destruction of property were continued without a finding for two years of probation.

He will also undergo an alcohol evaluation and submit to random alcohol testing.

Kehoe was tied to the destruction because he left his cellphone, wallet and backpack behind.
