CLEVELAND (AP) - The sentencing for a Cleveland man who pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and other charges in the fatal shooting of his 12-year-old stepdaughter and the wounding of her mother has been delayed.

A spokesman for the Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County prosecutor says the sentencing of 60-year-old Rufus Gray has been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. Gray pleaded guilty Monday as his trial in Cleveland was set to begin.

Prosecutors and Gray’s lawyers declined to comment after Monday’s proceedings.

Gray’s wife filed for divorce last year, months before police say Gray walked into her home and opened fire in October. Davia Garth died and her mother was wounded.

Gray’s ex-wife, Sonya Garth, says Davia loved Gray and called him “daddy.”
