LAS VEGAS (AP) - A conservative group is protesting against the Iranian nuclear deal outside Sen. Harry Reid’s office in Las Vegas.

The Conservative Campaign Committee said it rallied on Tuesday morning about 30 people from a coalition of groups to urge Reid and Democratic senators to vote against the Iranian nuclear deal. The group is also presenting the Nevada senator with a petition with 2,000 signatures.

The historic deal calls for limiting Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for lifting economic sanctions and is set for a vote in Washington in September after the summer break.

Lloyd Marcus, chairman of the Conservative Campaign Committee, called it a horrible proposition that would threaten national security and the safety of the country, Israel and other allies.

Reid’s office could not immediately be reached for comment.
