FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are hoping a $10,000 reward will help them solve the 2009 slaying of a Red Bank teacher.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says it has developed new leads in the case and investigators are closing in on a suspect.

Jonelle Melton was found beaten to death in her apartment in 2009. The 33-year-old taught seventh grade at Red Bank Middle School.

Authorities believe someone holds a key piece of information that could lead to an arrest. They hope that person will come forward.
