ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) - Police in a western Cleveland suburb say they’ve taken into custody 21 people and seized drugs worth thousands of dollars in a series of arrests targeting alleged dealers this month.

Police in Elyria (eh-LEER’-ee-uh) say the people arrested are suspected of selling drugs at home and in public spaces, such as parks and streets.

Investigators seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana and other drugs values at more than $15,000. They also found weapons and more than $5,000 in cash.

The suspects range in age from 21 to 37. The variety of charges against them includes having and trafficking drugs.

Police say two officers suffered minor injuries chasing suspects during the raids, which were completed during the past two weeks.
