WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island’s first drone store has opened in Warwick.

WPRI-TV (https://bit.ly/1IZfGK7 ) reports that Cloud City Drones opened two weeks ago next to T.F. Green Airport.

The store opened amid concerns that the technology will interfere with commercial airliners. The Federal Aviation Administration says it has recorded more than 650 drone spottings by pilots through early August.

Owner Christopher Williams says they don’t plan on doing any flying near the airport, only inside the shop.

Mayor Scott Avedisian says Williams has already applied for a business license with the city. Avedisian says William’s shop won’t be treated differently because of what they sell.

Williams says he plans to have an official grand opening next week.
