ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - A Roanoke man who crashed his van while carrying two children has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Robert Earl Underwood III pleaded guilty to child neglect and driving under the influence of drugs Monday in Roanoke Circuit Court. The crash occurred in May 2014. The children were in safety seats and were not seriously hurt.

The Roanoke Times reports (https://bit.ly/1hIK1Uh) that Underwood’s attorney presented no evidence at the hearing.
