SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Police in southeast Louisiana say a man wanted for holding up a Boost Mobile store in Slidell has been arrested in Jackson, Mississippi.

Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith said Monday that 36-year-old James Brister of Gulfport, Mississippi, was arrested during an Aug. 8 holdup at a Metro PCS store in Jackson, Mississippi. That was two days after the Slidell holdup.

Slidell police spokesman Daniel Seuzeneau (SOO-zuh-noh) says detectives went to Hinds County, Mississippi, got additional evidence, and now have an armed robbery warrant for Brister’s arrest. He says officials don’t know when Brister will be extradited.

Seuzeneau says that after releasing information about the Slidell holdup, detectives also learned about similar daylight holdups in Gulfport, Biloxi and Hattiesburg.

It was not clear whether Brister has an attorney who could comment.
