LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (AP) - Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is known for challenges in the kitchen, but he was in Lake Stevens for a different kind of competition.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports (https://bit.ly/1hkSIUI ) that Ramsay competed in the Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3 Sunday, finishing the race in five hours, 50 minutes and 31 seconds.

The Lake Stevens competition is a half Ironman, consisting of a 1.2-mile swim followed by a 56-mile bicycle ride and finished with a 13.1-mile run. Ramsay finished No. 331, in the top third of racers.

Ramsay is internationally known for a string of acclaimed restaurants, popular cookbooks and television shows including “Hell’s Kitchen” and “The F Word.”

While in Snohomish County he revisited Prohibition Gastropub in Everett, a restaurant he helped revamp in a 2013 episode of “Kitchen Nightmares.”
