WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington Police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged with armed robbery and other offenses after she held up a woman at gunpoint.

It happened about 6:20 a.m. Monday near South Park Drive and West Street. Officers responding to reports of a woman screaming found the victim, who described the suspect.

WDEL-FM reports (https://bit.ly/1LjMv5i) that police investigating an unrelated crime about an hour later saw a girl matching the suspect’s description. Officers say she dropped a 9mm handgun beneath a parked car as they approached her.

The girl was arrested and charged with armed robbery and weapons offenses.
