TOWN OF CICERO, Wis. (AP) - Two people have died in a fiery crash between a semi and an SUV on Highway 47 in Outagamie County.

Sheriff’s officials say it happened Wednesday morning north of Black Creek in the Town of Cicero. WLUK-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Lk2dNO ) that witnesses told deputies they saw the northbound SUV lose control before the crash. The SUV struck the soutbound semi in the gas tank, causing the fire.

The SUV driver died in the crash. The semi driver was flown to a hospital where he died.

Officials say the semi was carrying a load of plastic bags.

The crash forced the closure of the highway in both directions.
