PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Two Providence-based tugboats have been safely moored after they were found unmanned and adrift in Mount Hope Bay.

The Coast Guard said that the 100-foot boats, which belong to McAllister Towing and Transportation, were reported as drifting unoccupied Tuesday night less than a mile from the Braga Bridge in Fall River, Massachusetts.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1MxUld1 ) the tugs Puma and David McAllister are based in Providence.

Vessels with the Coast Guard Station Castle Hill in Newport, the Portsmouth Fire Department, and the Bristol Harbormaster responded to the scene. A crew from McAllister Towing arrived and brought the tugboats back to a pier. There were no reported injuries or damages.

The Coast Guard says the incident is under investigation.
