DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A drug task force says it has arrested 20 people in connection to a prostitution sting at a motel in central Iowa.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the sting happened Tuesday and was led by the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force. Additional information about the sting was not released.

Authorities say local business owners and residents had complained about suspicious activity at motels within the county. The people arrested face charges involving prostitution and soliciting prostitution.

The task force plans to conduct random prostitution stings throughout the year.
