CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol says two adults and two children from New Orleans have died in a car crash south of Jackson.

Investigators say it appears the driver fell asleep when the accident occurred about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 55 North in Copiah County. Troopers say investigators believe the 2014 Hyundai left the interstate, hit a tree and caught on fire.

The patrol says the driver was 22-year-old Jeanelle Lemieux and the front-seat passenger was 19-year-old Davell Gethers.

The children in the back seat were an 18-month old girl, Riley Lemieux; and a 4-month-old boy, Bradley Lemieux.

A Highway Patrol report says the four were on their way to visit relatives in Missouri.

The accident remains under investigation.
