SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A man remains held without bail at the Sacramento County jail in connection with the death of his mother, whose body was found buried in the backyard of their Natomas home.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1J3rNpt ) 41-year-old Scott Dallas Boyer appeared in court Tuesday. He is facing a murder charge in the death of his mother, Rosanne Brown, whose body was discovered by police Aug. 13.

Boyer was arrested Friday after a neighbor called police to report a violent confrontation that had broken out between family members at Boyer’s home.

Officers arrived and eventually discovered Brown’s body buried in the backyard.

The woman’s cause of death hasn’t yet been determined.

Boyer’s next court date is Tuesday.
