HURST, Texas (AP) - A third-grade teacher in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District has been charged with two counts of indecency with a child.

Hurst police said Tuesday that 25-year-old Angel Omar Sales was arrested by U.S. Custom and Border Protection authorities Aug. 10 at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport upon his return to the country from a trip.

He was released after posting a $20,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if Sales has an attorney.

Sales, who taught at Bellaire Elementary School, has been on administrative leave since May 21 after school officials learned of allegations against him. Hurst police were notified by Child Protective Services on June 1 after an investigation.

The school district said in a statement that it has notified Sales of its intent to terminate his employment.
