DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a man who was arrested after he ran onto a ramp at Denver International Airport had missed his flight to a high school reunion and was trying to stop the plane.

The incident happened Aug. 6 but wasn’t disclosed until Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the man opened an emergency exit on a concourse and ran onto the ramp area where the plane was pushing back from the gate. The door set off an alarm.

Denver district attorney’s spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough says the man planned to be on the Ohio-bound plane but was late.

Airport spokesman Heath Montgomery says the United Airlines flight wasn’t significantly delayed by the incident.

Prosecutors filed charges of endangering public transportation and hindering public transportation against 58-year-old Marc Rehmar.

He didn’t immediately respond to a telephone message seeking comment.
