NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The developer tasked with a $40 million overhaul of Norfolk’s Waterside Festival Marketplace plans to demolish part of it.

The Daily Press reports (https://bit.ly/1Mxr8PB) Cordish Cos. plans to demolish the annex, which was built in the 1990s.

Additionally, the company is calling the area the Waterside District. In the past, the developer said the building would be called Waterside Live!

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for Aug. 26. The Waterside District is expected to open in the spring of 2017.
