PHOENIX (AP) - An Amazon warehouse in Phoenix was evacuated this morning after workers say a container holding butane cartridges began to swell up.

Fire officials say crews were called around 2 a.m. to a possible hazardous materials situation at the west Phoenix facility.

According to Phoenix fire spokesman Mark Vanacore, a 55-gallon drum under pressure had swelled up abnormally.

The drum had dozens of cartridges that are used to refill lighters.

Vanacore says 75 employees were cleared from the premises and nobody was hurt.

A police bomb squad used a robot equipped with a drill to alleviate the pressure in the drum.

The drum was then safely removed from building.
