LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a woman was traveling 81 mph when she allegedly caused a five-vehicle crash that killed another woman near McCarran International Airport on Aug. 10.

Las Vegas Police said Wednesday, the same day they arrested 39-year-old Angela Bashay, that investigators used math to determine the speed based on evidence at the scene.

Police say Bashay was driving a 2011 Honda Pilot going 81 mph when she hit the back of a 2003 Nissan Altima driven by 39-year-old Christine Robinson. The crash involved five cars. Robinson was the only person killed.

Police say Bashay faces a felony charge of reckless driving. Information on Bashay’s case including if she’s represented by a lawyer was not available Wednesday.
