MUSTANG RIDGE, Texas (AP) - Central Texas police are trying to determine who was driving an SUV that blew a tire and rolled in a wreck that left five relatives dead and four hurt.

Mustang Ridge police Chief Michael Rodriguez said Wednesday that nobody was wearing a seat belt during last week’s accident.

Rodriguez, at the family’s request amid the investigation, declined to release details on victims in the Aug. 13 accident on Texas 130. Police aren’t sure how fast the SUV was going. The speed limit is 85 mph.

The Austin American-Statesman (https://atxne.ws/1NuwxYo ) reports a husband and wife from Round Rock, her mother and the couple’s 14-year-old son died at the scene. A 4-year-old son died later. Relatives are caring for the couple’s four other children hurt in the wreck following a trip to Mexico.
