LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (AP) - The National Weather Service says it has confirmed the touchdowns of two weak tornadoes near Lake Geneva and Big Bend.

Weather service staff on Wednesday surveyed the damage caused by Tuesday night’s severe weather in Walworth County and determined both tornadoes were EF1, which puts them toward the low end of the scale.

But the first tornado damaged several buildings in a small industrial park after it touched down around 9 p.m. north of the city of Lake Geneva in the Town of Lyons.

Lake Geneva Police Chief Michael Rasmussen says storm sirens weren’t activated because the National Weather Service did not issue a tornado warning.

The second twister struck around 9:30 p.m. southwest of Big Bend, causing roof and siding damage and toppling trees.
