HOLIDAY, Fla. (AP) - Deputies say two people were stabbed during an argument over $1.65 at a Tampa Bay area hotel.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says Ryan Haskins, 29, told them he went to the victim’s room at the Tahitian Resort on Wednesday night to get back the $1.65 he’d lent them because he wanted to buy beer. Authorities said Haskins got into an argument with the male victim and stabbed him so deeply that his organs were exposed. Authorities said the injury would have been life threatening without medical attention.

An arrest report says Haskins stabbed a woman in the hand after she tried to break up the fight. The three had been living at the hotel for the past month.

Haskins has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
