ALEXANDRIA, S.D. (AP) - Authorities are diverting traffic off Interstate 90 east of Mitchell as they investigate a fiery two-car crash.

The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1JtY788 ) that the wreck occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Alexandria. At least one of the vehicles caught fire.

Rescuers from Mitchell and law enforcement officers from the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Hanson and Davison counties responded to the scene. Officers closed the lanes in both directions and diverted traffic onto state Highway 38.

No additional information was immediately available.
