SOUTH HERO, Vt. (AP) - Authorities have suspended the search for what they believe could be missing boaters after a vessel was discovered near a Vermont park.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, police say a catamaran sail boat was spotted after it ran aground near Sand Bar State Park in South Hero.

The search was suspended about 1 p.m. Thursday after no new evidence was discovered. It will resume if a missing person or overdue boater report is filed or if new evidence is uncovered.

Investigators say the boat may have been borrowed from a resident at Camp Skyland earlier in the day.

Police say they found one life jacket during their search.
