MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) - Police and a witness say a man’s body has been found in the Monongahela River near the Pittsburgh suburb of McKeesport.

Boater Ted Earl of Munhall tells The (McKeesport) Daily News (https://bit.ly/1MzVIrQ) that police asked him to help them get to the body when they arrived Thursday morning.

The boater says the body appeared to be that of a large, white man with long hair worn in a ponytail.

Police remained on the scene and confirmed an investigation but have not released additional information.

The body was found near where the Youghiogheny (YAWK’-a-gen-nee) River flows into the Monongahela, not far from the Marina at McKees Point.
