ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a fire at a parking structure for University of Michigan Health System has burned several vehicles.

The school’s Division of Public Safety and Security say the fire was extinguished Thursday morning and cleanup was taking place. Spokeswoman Diane Brown tells The Ann Arbor News five vehicles were total wrecks, and about a half-dozen more had minor to significant damage.

No injuries are reported.

Brown says the fire started in a minivan. The man driving it noticed the engine started smoking, so he put it in park and jumped out.

The fire was at a parking structure for the Taubman Health Care Center. Several area intersections were blocked, but people with medical emergencies were allowed through.

The structure’s lower levels are expected to be closed for a few days.
