WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been arrested after authorities say he gave the wrong name to an officer and it turned out that person had an outstanding warrant.

Winter Haven Police questioned Daruis Devonte McClain Wednesday night after receiving complaints about loud music coming from his car. When the officer asked for McClain’s ID, they say McClain told them he didn’t have it. Instead, he allegedly gave police another name.

When the officer looked it up, he discovered there was an outstanding arrest warrant under that name. Police say McClain then admitted giving them his brother’s name and said he didn’t know his brother had an arrest warrant.

McClain is on probation for bringing contraband into a detention facility. He is charged with giving a false ID to law enforcement and violating probation.
