CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A former Hamilton County corrections officer, who authorities say posed as a surgeon to steal narcotics from Chattanooga’s three major downtown hospitals, has been arrested again.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports (https://bit.ly/1HXFX7C ) 26-year-old Ryan Epperson was arrested Wednesday after police say he sneaked back into Erlanger Medical System’s facilities on Saturday and Tuesday.

In May, police say Epperson was arrested following weeks of thefts from Erlanger, Parkridge Medical Center and CHI Memorial hospital. Authorities say he physically broke into the computerized drug dispensaries and also took drugs from crash carts.

Authorities say Epperson, who was released on bond in June, now faces up to 30 new charges, including burglary, vandalism, theft and aggravated trespassing.

His attorney, Bill Speek, says he is working to investigate Epperson’s most recent arrest.
